Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides service to patients in designated care settings, including acute, short and long-term care, by assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating injuries and ailments. Responsibilities include:
- Obtaining a thorough medical history and performing examinations/assessments to determine patient needs.
- Analyzing and interpreting information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Coordinating care by rounding on patients when necessary.
- Working collaboratively with providers and independently to provide care.
- Formulating treatment plans and prescribing medications as legally authorized.
- Maintaining complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans.
- Consulting with or referring patients to appropriate specialists.
- Providing patients with information to promote health and prevent disease.
- Counseling patients and family members about self-management.
- Conducting research into areas of specialty to improve patient care.
- Incorporating evidence-based practice guidelines into care.
- Maintaining current knowledge of state regulations for advanced practice provider practices.
Qualifications
- Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
- APP experience of 1+ years required (new graduates will not be considered).
- Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances.
- Certification as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner (A-GNP), or Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C).
- Demonstrated current competence in patient care.
Schedule is Mon – Fri. Practitioner will partner with the phone triage team and see patients via telemedicine and in clinic.
